Hello,
i have a alienware aurora that i bought in november or 2009. i have the 525w psu that came with it. i need to upgrade to run a sapphire 6970. it needs a 6 and a 8 pin connector to work. i want the psu to be the same style as oem. it has a big rectangle connector, so i dont have to rewire the whole thing as they did a very neat job. what options do i have? i plan on sli'ing a second card in the future as $ allows

Its ATX so any aftermarket one should fit, but you cant keep the wires, a new psus require you to pull out the old one completely then rewire everything. (Unless you are/know a master electrician :p)

What card did it come with originally though? for one 6970 it should do okay.

the wattage is enough but it needs a 8 pin power connector in addition to the 6 pin. i have a nvidia 240 gts that im still running. if there is a way that i can splice in a 8 pin i would do it. it has 2 6 pin conductors that are hooked up and another set that are dead on the 525w setup
