New MOBO, CPU, RAM,..old case, HD and PS?

Does anyone build a new system with a new MOBO, RAM, CPU and keep their old case, HD (maybe) and power supply if it's adquate? Is this permitted and/or a good or not so good idea?

They're still selling my case, my PS (Cooler Master RS-450-ACLY) 450 watts)seems to be working just fine. Never a problem.

I think this is why people build their own, so you can keep changing them right?

Yup, that's exactly what I've done (though I eventually upgraded the PSU)!

Any problems with that or was it an easy switchout? You swapped the PS later after the MOBO etc?
