More about whats difference intel core dual core
  1. Depends on which dual core you are talking about but generally a Pentium dual core is a 'reduced' core 2 duo or i3/15. The newer dual core like the pentium p6200 are like the i3 but with hyperthreading disabled.
  2. How come my Core2Duo 3.0ghz chip reads 1.6ghz on cpu-z?
    Is something broke?

    LMAO
  3. BTW the way the pentium dual 2.2 and core2duo 1.8 are probably so close that I would just buy the cheaper one

That's called SpeedStep. It clocks down your CPU when it's idle to reduce heat and save power.
  5. that was <sarcasm>

    look at LMAO at bottom
    but you are right sir

    it is similar to
    "I have a Pentium 4 3.6 Hyperthreading
that means it is equal to a 7.2 ghz chip?"

    I have a Core 2 Quad @ 3.2 GHz. Does that mean I have 12.8GHz?

    :P
  7. ^ LOL

    so a I7 990x would be somewhere over 40ghz?

also how come I bought 4 gb of ram and I only have 3.25 in XP?
  8. Why won't my PC run Crysis 2? My specs:

    Intel Celeron 2.2GHz
    1GB DDR-333 RAM
    GeForce 3 64MB Video Card
I don't know what motherboard, I can't read the serial under all the dust.
Oh yes, and I want to run it at 1920 x 1080 with AA set to 16x.

    Any ideas?
  9. stick the two celerons together with solder, jam them into socket lga775 and
then you have a Pentium D cpu dual core....
  10. Will it work with a 2.2GHz and a 2.4GHz CPU or will it be too powerful then?
  11. only if they are Xeons
which are the best for gaming you know :)

THIS. Twin 12-core Xeons with hyper threading (total thread count - 48 FTW) will KILL games like Minesweeper and Free Cell. And they are the most resource intensive, everybody knows that.
  13. N0 Bejeweled 3 is the most cpu/gpu intense game to date

you need twin hd6990s to max it
    or three gtx580s
  14. Hated Bejeweled. Never could get the controls right.
  15. Yea my Crossfired HD 6970s with the new drivers
kept shimmering and turning pink when I played

I think I need to OC them to play Bejeweled

also (for real) I just downloaded Zork if you are old enough to remember it
google if you dont know it
Now that game takes serious resources
  16. I think I'm a bit young for it. Looks wicked though, will give Crysis 2 a run for it's money. Think I can DL it at my work and copy it to my USB drive? It's 16GB, will it be large enough?
  17. more than 10 times the size of the original drives that computers that Zork played on
    had

Actually it loaded off of a 5 1/4 floppy drive diskette
Wait I remember loading it off of a cassette tape storage unit

If it is Pentium Dual Core than I would probably pick that due to increase in frequency
if you are referring to a AMD dual core than I would pick the Core2Duo especially if you overclock it
