I'm considering getting one of these cards with my new build, and I was just wondering if 600W would be enough to handle it.

Thanks.

Solution

If it's only "slightly" stretching the budget, yes that would likely be a fair bit better, at least it's a known good quality psu.
What other options are available ?

thats the main problem which is stopping me to buy my gaming pc, i wanna use gtx 460 or 5770 but a single 5770 requires atleast 30 amps so, must i buy a psu more than 30 amps or a normal psu with 18 amps will do it
i'll be using 5770or gtx 460 with i5

My apologies.
As stated earlier in the thread 600 watts is enough, more than actually.
Now comes the question of quality , what kind of 600 watt psu do you have ?

No worries, I'm sorry if I sounded rude.

I don't really know the specifics, just that it's a 600W Quiet 80 PLUS Quad Rail PSU + 120mm Case Fan

Not alot to go on and there are a number of 80 PLUS Quad Rail PSU's that are crap that I wouldn't use but would have the power for a GTX460.
Can you open the case and read the psu label ?

Unfortunately not, as I'm talking about a system I don't have yet. :D I'm just checking that what I'm buying is enough.
I could try and find out though, and reply back here.

What's an OEM system? Sorry, I'm not that helpful.

Slightly stretching budget, I could go with a Corsair 650W TX Series Ultra Quiet PSU instead ... I assume that would be a fair bit better?

A few other Corsairs, but those are out of my price range.

I think I'll stick with the Corsair 650W. Thank you for your help. :)
