A complet fanless computer

Greeting

I want to created a 0 dba computer. So I need to go fanless all the way

Here are the componant I want to try:

Motherboard = Gigabyte H67MA-D2H-B3
CPU = Intel Core i3 2100T it is a low power version 35W from what I can read
Heatsink = Thermalright HR-02 Heatpipe Cooler LGA775/1156/1155/1366/AM2 Heatsink it is a big fanless heatsink
RAM = G.SKILL Ripjaws X F3-10666CL7D-4GBXH 4GB 2X2GB DDR3-1333 CL-7-7-7-21 Memory
HD = SSD vertex 2 120go
PSU = Seasonic X-400FL ATX 12V 24PIN 400W Active PFC 80PLUS Gold Fanless Power Supply
Computer case = Thermaltake Dokker Black Mid Tower Case with a lot of hole on the top for natural convection.

Since I want to go 0 dba that mean I will remove all the fan from the case...
As anyone done something similar???
Any advice???
Will natural convection do the trick???

  1. Seems do able, but for natural convection You would want strict bottom intake and top exaust and perhaps even seal the case.

    35W is a little high to go fanless, but SBs run pretty cool and the coolers big enough. However you should also be able to use other large tower coolers, just take off the fan.
  2. HI

    I look at special case like that one but you have to make it your self... I would prefert to use standard part... I don't have a machine shop lol and bending heatpipe and all...
  3. By the way the bottom of the case I chose also have hole so yes it is bottom and top with hole
  4. That i3 could get a bit warm. What about..

    Totally fanless, and would still cope with light gaming without much heat.

    Yea most of us dont access to machine shop LOL :D

    I just wanted you to see how much work a fanless design is

    I would suggest that you ask around Toms about the quietest fan available

    with one low rpm brushless fan it would be very quiet

    just have it at the top exhausting out
  6. So anyone have try to build a system like that?
