Power Supply

Just had a quick question...
My power supply has a switching power supply

Input Voltage 103-132VAC or 206-264VAC RMS switch selectable
What does this do and would i get any more amps on the 12/v rail if i switched it?

Also my power supply is a
Apevia WIN-500XSPX
I know it's 500 Watt but i cannot find anywhere to verifey if it is a contiouns 500 Watt or not.
Because it is a cheap power supply i fear that it is not continous.
Would like some help in verifying this please.

That switch is to select whether the power supply is plugged into a 120V wall socket or a 240V wall socket. It will have no effect on the power supply output, and may not work at all if you have it on the wrong setting.
