My guess would be early 2011 release, Dual Cayman (most likely Dual HD6950's or Dual HD6970's underclocked). 12-13" in Length, 300W Power consumption, 30-50% faster that HD5970, Dual slot (Obviously), £550ish. Hotter than the sun.
(Just my guess, not facts....)

From my experience so far, the 6xxx series is slower than the 5xxx so my opinion would be it will be within +- 5% of the 5970 and VERY similiarly priced, with a few eye catching features

their naming has changed, EG: the 6870 doesnt = the 5870...it is somewhere between the 5770 and 5850!

^ the entire 6xxx series isn't slower. The naming scheme is a bit confusing, and annoying I might add. The 6850/70 is actually the successor to the 57xx series. The 69xx series coming out soon will be the"new" 58xx, and will in fact be faster.

The 68xx series are to compete against the GTX460 series, not the 58xx series from ATi as logic would suggest. The 6950 + 6970 will be the 58xx series replacements and no doubt be faster, the HD6970 is rumored to be around GTX580 performance. The HD6990 will be in a league of its own. Atleast thats how I understand it from what I've read.

heres the map of replacement:

That graph was made kinda clumsily. You have to move both the 5870/50 and the 5770/50 up a little. Price point and performance right now, it's obvious the 6850/70 is aimed at the mid/low end, just like the 57xx series did when they came out. Process of elimination... When the 5970/50 come out, they will replace the 5870/50. That leaves all cards covered except the dual processor 5970. That will eventually be replaced by the 6990.

I would say you want to shunt the 5770/50 down a good bit myself. they dont get near a 6850 yet lap on the graph.
The rest looks close enough though.

Mactronix :)
