Nivida geforce gt 9500 issues

I have a gt 9500 video card...The issue Im having is when I plug up the 2nd power cord so card has maxium power my games starts crashing..If I unplug 2nd power plug I can run some plder games but It will not allow me to play games like call of duty world at war.I have changed power supply several times as recommended not I have a 750 watt power supply..Please help

What do you mean by the power cord? 9500GT doesn't need a pci-e connector!so whats that?

AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200+,mmx,3Dnow,~2.0Hz
Memory : 3072 Ram
Direct x 9.0c
Windows xp home
750 watt powersupply
gt 9600 nvidia card

I have been running evga precision and the temp were aroung 58c when I started .I cleaned out csae with compressed air and now it runs 48 c at idle.I updated to the latest driver for my card and I do have the pci-e power pluged into video card....updated call of duty waw but still will not run the game
