2 Pci esxpress x16 2.0 slots

I am wondering if it makes a difference in bandwidth if I put my 5830 from the top PCI express x16 slot into the bottom one. My motherboard is an ASROCK 870 extreme. I just want to make sure it wont be running at 8x instead of the full 16x.

If you use one card,it will run at x16 speed no matter on what slot;however,if you use 2 cards,then they'll run at dual x8 speed
