What is the potential of core 2 quad 8300

Hello,i have core 2 quad 8300 but it doesnt give me enough speed as i was told. my games are runnin slow though i hav an nvidia 9400gt512mb,1.5 gb ram and asus P5KPL AM/PS motherboard,160 gb hard disk .i bought d processor for mostly games.plz help

Welcome.
Your biggest problems are two the 9400GT is not a very good card and if you are running 32 bit windows recommended min is 2GB. Those two items are the bottleneck in your system for gaming especially the 9400GT. When those are fixed then you can think about overclocking your CPU.
