Motherboard only holds 2x 512mb ram how to add more

I have a older desktop and it only has 2x 512mb slots for ram how can i add more to this computer to make it faster it is max to 1gb now so maybe a daughter board with ram or something?

It isa a hp pavilion a720a desktop and max supported is 1gb what it has now but cant afford to upgrade to newer system but need it to have more memory so did not know if you could put a boarded memory in a slot or something to help older systems m/b this is 9/04 dated system asus a7v8z-la, uses pc2700 mb/sec ram
 
Nope it's not going to support anything more than 1GB.
But that mobo according to HP supports upto 2 GB max.

So what you can do is certainly buy 2x 1GB sticks of the RAM specified there and upgrade it.

You can also lay your hands on a cheap AGP old GeForce4 GPU and make the max out of that system for quiet some time if you want to hang on to it and still be in good shape.

This worked ordered the ram 2x1gb and now it has 2gb and makes a lot of dirrerence thanks a lot for making me look deeper for the info that it will work, take care and keep helping people out
