I'd suggest you give this one a go in the cinema or at least rent it out when it is released on DVD if you have a projector and a good surround sound system. I think it is worth it. It does get silly and boring at times though.
I did like the sense of humour in it though.

That movie needed ninjas, they were in China so they could've at least thrown them in. I don't think its possible for things like that to happen over such a short amount of time, too unrealistic.
I was thinking that too. The begining of that movie was really really cool. Especially since I've lived in L.A. It was why I really liked Independence Day too.
But overall it was entertaining. It was like Volcano, not as good as ID4, but still pretty damn entertaining.
The acting was absolutely horrible though in a lot of parts.

I can just imagine applauding when a plane in which you're not seated lands...

A long long time ago, but I can still remember, how that music used to make me smile... Digger rulz
Seems like Canadians are a bit more snobby on my flights, no applauds, while the flight from London to Lebanon (Middle East Airlines, all Lebanese) had a lot of applause. Still got the digicam video of it too. Yeah, applauding on plane landings is a frequent thing, but I agree, it does help give you a sense of release from some anxiety when landing or flying, as you feel like you're finally back on the ground safely.

I've flown a lot and the only time people clap is on trans atlantic flights. Maybe trans pacific as well but I've only been to hawaii as a kid and can't remember.
I find it odd when people don't clap.

I'm wondering, are you aware of the odd hobby called plane spotting? Granted, people indulging in this hobby usually do not clap when a plane lands (that they are spotting, so they are not inside ) but they do have these booklets with them in which they note all the plane registration numbers. They try to spot as many different planes as they can. The most avid spotters travel around the world to spot planes at different airports.
Couple of dutch plane spotters were arrested in Greece a year or two back, and were charged with espionage activity Yes, they were spotting military planes.......

I doubt anyone of the non-retardedium species would clap though...

Yeah, a group of British blokes got done as well. Saddo's really. Flying all the way to Greece, beautiful country, sun, sea, beer, topless babes and what do they go and look at... focking planes! The only plane I would have wanted to see would have been the bugger I was flying there and back on.
