Whats better

i have a hd4200 onboard and a 6600gt card which one is better

Just had a quick search and it appears that the 6600gt is the better card.

+1 6600GT is better. However, if you are just using it for desktop items and watching DVD's the 4200 may run better for those purposes. It is also DX10 and while not "faster" it may decrypt movies better and use less CPU. The 6600GT would be better in a gaming environment.

HD4200 graphics is the onboard graphics on the 785G chipset, isn't it? Any card will thump an onboard graphics any day.

^Gaming wise I agree. But Some of the newer GPU's decode video from DVD and Blu-Ray better and take the load off the CPU, which is a big plus.
