I just got an offer from a friend of mine for my computer that I built a year and a half ago for $450 and was thinking about selling him mine and building up a new one. The only thing that is holding me back is the knowledge that bulldozer is gonna be released later this year. If I do build it now, I will probably go with a sandy bridge i5 or i7.

My Computer Specs:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X3 720 BE
Mobo: ASRock cheapy motherboard
Video Card: 1GB Radeon HD 4850
HDD: 320 GB Samsung 7200 RPM Drive
Memory: 8GB (4x2GB) Ripjaw DDR3 1333
Case: Antec 900 w/ LED fan lights disabled
PSU: Corsair 550W
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

Looking for some opinions on whether I should go ahead and sell him it and build a new computer now or hold off and wait to see how bulldozer performs. Also, is $450 a reasonable price for this seeing as it is now 1.5 yrs old now?

Do it!

A year ago, you could make this for only $500 (I know, because it's mine):

- ASUS M4A79XTD EVO motherboard
- AMD Athlon II X4 630 2.8 GHz
- Super Talent DDR3-1600 4GB (2x2GB) CL9 Dual Channel Memory
- SAPPHIRE Radeon HD5770 1GB
- OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W
- Hitachi 1 TB Deskstar SATA 7200RPM 32MB Cache
(Note: $500 dollar figure does not include case.)

I believe this has better specs than yours, and with prices now, you could probably make this for around $400 (+/- case).
