Graphics card handle new monitor?

Hey all,
I'm looking at a new monitor, either a 1920x1080 or 1600x900 and I was wondering if my current card, (5850) can handle it... I play games like Cod, Bfbc2, and Crysis. I understand it'll struggle w/ Crysis, but can I play the others maxed? Also, what is a good response time?

You can play just about anything at max settings 1920 x 1080 with a HD5850.

Look for a 2ms response time.
  2. if it's got a 5ms response is that okay?
  3. Well, if you can't afford 2ms then 5ms is still okay...
  4. okay... thank you very much. Hey, would you say it's worth going from a 14 inch crt @ 1024x768 to a 20 inch lcd @ 1920x1080? Is it a HUGE difference? Will it change my gaming experience?
  5. well it will be nice to have all that extra screen space. you get larger HUDs in FPS games, larger action bars in MMOs, etc., Plus you will free up more desk space with an LCD

I just went from a 19in ( LCD ) 1440 x 900 to a 23in 1920 x 1080 and that was a HUGE difference. A 14in to a 20 is an even bigger upgrade so you are going to be blown away! Not to mention how much better the picture will be on the LCD.
  7. Okay, now I'm so phyched for it to arrive! Thanks everyone!
