Hello, I have a 15 month old Vostro 1520 laptop. The touch pad no longer works. Is it replacement only for this?

now please try this first

connect a usb mouse if you havent done so

right click my computer icon on desktop or start menu
go to manage
go to device manager
check status of pointing device
if it says ok then
uninstall
restart computer
it will reinstall driver
if it says fail write down trouble code
and google the code online

first thing you do before anything else
