Question about 4-pin adapters.

I have a 3 pin fan that constantly runs and is quite annoying. They have 4-pin adapters that just allow you to connect your 3-pin fan into a molex connector and then to the motherboards 4-pin connector.

My question is will this allow me to control my fan speed?

If you fan comes with 4-pins, yeah, you can.
