Radeon 4670 hd agp causing failing monitior ?

Maybe I worded my heading wrong before but hope I get an answer with this. I have a self built (4 yrs ago) computer with a msi Motherboard ID 01/25/2007-K8M800-8237-6A7L1M4JC-00 with no pcie slots. I have an
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+, 2199 MHz running a radeon HD 4670 agp iceq driver version 8.753.0.0 with new rocketfish 550w 80+ monitor is Model eView 17f Maximum Resolution 1280 x 1024@65 hz. The Old power supply litterly blew up and about made me deaf from the boom when it blew. The Radeon is brand new like the power supply. XP home build 2600. The problem I'm having is that here ad there my monitor will go dark ( like its off) but you can still hear windows in the background. This sometimes happens in 2 mins 5 mins or sometimes 4 days of running. I play cod2 alot and it never happens when in game but only when I'm doing normal stuff on my puter. I plug the monitor into my onboard and it dosnt happen at all. So if there maybe a fix for this because the graphics are awesome with this card and I hate not to run it. I haven't tryed to mess with any settings or overclocking Hope this information is enought to get an answer thx

Sometimes I also get another msg but no black screen this is it.

The atidvag display driver has stopped working normally. save all work and reboot to restore full display functionality. The next time you reboot a dialog will be displayed giving you a chance to upload data about this failure to microsoft......

Ok so I reboot no dialog comes up just everything is working just the way its suposed to untill the next time it happens
