Hi I just installed 2500k on Asus p8p67 pro and I was looking at the cpu voltage and it keeps changing between 1.164 up to 1.184 is this change cause for concern shouldnt the voltage be a constant thing?

All modern processors have built-in power management features that allow you to lower the costs of your power bills. For their latest processors, AMD developed a technology called Cool'n'Quiet and Intel another one called SpeedStep. Both of them dynamically adjust the voltage and the core frequency of your processor, decreasing the average power consumption and average heat production.

^speedstep and power features changed on sandy bridge. They don't have the same influence as before. You can OC your cpu with them enabled without worrying its going to kill your oc
I dont know about what technology SB has when it comes to power management however I just what to inform the thread starter that it is a normal occurance for vcore or the voltage of the cpu to change consistently throughout its usage.

Thing is it is doing this in the bios, My buddies gigabyte board with the 2400 in it and his voltage is stable. WHen I look at it through cpu z it the vcore goes from 1.164 to 1.78 down to 0.95 all in a matter of a min or so. Also in bios it shows my 12 volt fluctuating a bit. I am concerned this may be a psu issues.

You can OC with SpeedStep enabled.
Four of my systems:

GA-EP45-UD3P | Q9550 OC'd to 3.6 GHz (425 MHz X 8.5) C3 stepping :(
GA-EP45-UD3L | Q6600 OC'd to 3.6 GHz (400 MHz X 9)
GA-EP35-DS3P | E7500 OC'd to 4.1 GHz (373 MHz X 11)
GA-G41M-ES2L | E6500 OC'd to 3.87 GHz (352 MHz X 11) limited by the G41 chipset

All are 24 hours Prime95 stable with SpeedStep enabled.
