New rig for video editing. 2600k or i7 950?

Hello,
any suggestions for a pc dedicated for video editing (premiere cs5)? is sandy 2600k better than i7 950?
if so, what mobo and ram wound be best? thinking about gtx470. willing to spend around $3000.
any feedback would be appreciated.

i7 2600K will be better,... It offers nearly as good performance of the 980X when overclocked

Mobo - ASUS P8P67 Or ASUS P8P67 PRO if SLI on the cards,...

RAM - GSKillz 8GB DDR3 - Though 4 GB might suffice for video, but for rendering 8GB would be better,...
