Why does my C drive have so many long name folders

My hard drive always has a large number of long named folders and many of them are empty. Why do they keep collecting them? I use my utilities, but they stay on there. Ex: 9c884a65d9c03908ca9d0c5612

More about drive long folders
  1. They are probably .net or other temporary folders. As long as everything is running fine just kill them. If you are having trouble with ownership just install and use unlocker.
  2. Yeah, those are temporary folders used by programs and Windows Update when they install or update. You can leave them or delete them if you wish.
