It seems that this thread has not had any contributors for awhile, but I have a similar problem, and no one seems to have any answers. So here goes - I hope someone will take pity on me and send a reply. I have a new Toshiba Satellite P505 that came with this Conexant Pebble High Def Smart Audio. It not only refuses to work with Audacity, it seems to be incapable of interfacing with any other sound/recording software period. I think the only solution is to chuck it and install something else, but I think there is some relationship with the hardware that might make this difficult? I would be grateful if anyone can help me. Cheers, Bruce.
