Dear Experts,

I understand USD $60 budget is too less, i don't play games and i have to choose a graphics card just because my chosen processor doesn't have integrated graphics memory.
Please suggest me a medium performance graphics card for my below new Desktop Computer which i will be buying in 15days.
Also let me know what graphical DDR memory type should i use for my desktop. Does DDR2 Graphic card usage reduces the performance of my DDR3 1333MHz desktop?

---BELOW IS MORE DETAILS---------
BUDGET RANGE: USD $60
USAGE: home theater/watching Full HD movies, I don’t play games

POWER SUPPLY: Not choosed Power Supply yet, Please suggest me good one accordingly.

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: Intel Core i5 760, 2.8GHz, 4 core, 4 thread, DH55HC Inter Mobo, H55 chipset, 4GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM, LCD Monitor

OVERCLOCKING: No

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1680x1050 and above

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Though my chosen processor doesn’t have integrated Graphics card/memory, I have to choose an external graphics cards for good graphical display and also as I’m using this computer for career perspective, I would also use computer to watch Full HD movies at regular times...

Any GeForce GT210 for around 40$ would be just fine.

Hi Tamz_msc,
Thanks, but could you please tell me whether should i use GT210 of DDR3 or just DDR2 is enough?

Will my system performance reduces if i use GT201 of DDR2 ?
Or should i only use GT210 of DDR3 ?

Since you're not gaming, GDDR3 or DDR2 does not make any difference.

Thanks Tamz_msc,
But please let me know what card to choose, the GDDR, the memory and manufacturer of the card. So that i can go forward to order that.

Hi iam2thecrowe,
my processor i5 760 doesnt hae any internal graphics memory, so i have to choose one external card. Please advice one for below USD $50.
(what card to choose, the GDDR, the memory and manufacturer of the card.)

The processor doesnt have graphics memory no, but does the Motherboard have onboard video that can use shared memory? That would be fine. If you really want to have better hardware video playback then an ati 5450 or nvidia gt210 would be ok

Hii iam2thecrowe,

Many Thanks for your good suggestion; so now I am almost closer to choose the graphics card.
I reviewed the specification of both from the links given by you,
ATI Radeon HD 5450 gives PCI Express 2.1 and Nvidia GT 210/GT220 gives PCI Express 2.0, my mother board DH55HC support PCI Express 2.0., so which is good to choose? ATI Radeon or Nvidia's GT 210/220 ??
Also ATI HD 5450 supports DirectX 11, but GT 210/220 supports DirectX 10.1

1) So based on above two comparison differences, please advise which to choose? GeF GT 210/220 or ATI Radeon HD 5450

Another 2 last questions:
2) Does the Graphics RAM size of 1024MB v/s 512MB helps in ripping/converting a video to other formats faster?
3) What size of monitor best suits to watch with resolution? 18.5" or 20" or 22".
I prefer to buy a 20" monitor, but I would go with your opinion with respect to resolution & clarity.

Please answer me for those 3 queries, and my request will be almost complete except one last question which I will ask after your suggestion to these queries. And I would go ahead and purchase one :-)

pciexpress 2.1 is compatable with 2.0. I would go with the gt210 or ati 5450 and you dont need more than 512mb. Just get whatever is cheapest. The gt220 will be a bit faster for 3d but still not enough to play the latest games. You can chose whatever monitor size you like, it will work fine with any. Ripping/converting video is entirely CPU and hard drive speed dependant, doesnt use your video card. Dont expect to be playing any 3d games on the cards I have mentioned, they are too slow for that.
