hey guys my girlfriend just gave me 12 gb of corsair vengeance ram, and on newegg, where she ordered it, it says it is compatible with i3, i5, and i7, but when i got the box it says intel core i7 inside...i have an i5 2500k, and i was wondering if just cause it only says intel core i7 on the front that its still compatible with my i5 2500k. thanks guys :bounce:

I couldn't just get 4 gb more since the 12 gb is triple channel right? Id have to get all dual channel memory for it to work properly?

Oooh ok, for some reason I thought that you could only use triple channel with triple channel boards, and same with dual and quad. So when I have the 3rd one in its basically not functional? Its just a little confusing cause on the back of each one it says 12gb as if they can only work together. And and also my mobo is on an infinite power loop when I turn it on...I thought it was the ram problem which now I know its not,. I have everything except for the disk drive and harddrive plugged in, I'm waiting for them as presents haha. Could the missing of those things be causing the loop or Is it a fault mobo?

U can use it, it will operate in dual mode.

Just like I have 4 slots and 4x4GBsticks and dual mode.
