Hello,
I have a "clicking noise" from my dell gx280 desktop computer and then I get a screen that says.....

Drive 2 not found:parallel ata, Pata-0 (pri ide master)
Drive 3 not found:parallel ata, Pata-1 (pri ide slave)

Also, it has gotten very slow, expecially on the net. What could this be?
Thanks, Laura

Hard drives are failing
as soon as possible get important info off of those hard drives
onto external hard drive or backed up onto dvd/cd
there is nothing besides bad hard drive that will make a clicking noise in tower
the hard drive is the only moving part in tower
clicking is sure sign HD is about to die

also the GX280 as das-stig said does have bad capacitor problem so that is something to be aware of

i would consider a new tower if financially possible
the absolute cheapest tower you can find in stores like Best Buy and Walmart for example is much faster than you have now

otherwise you would have to replace hard drive and reinstall Windows on this tower you have now
