I've been trying to build a PC for gaming and basic 3d animation for school. The only real requirement is that the CPU itself is under $1K before accessories... I've found a pretty decent deal on a Dell with a 21.5 inch HD monitor included, i just want to make sure that the hardware is worth the price tag....

The $9 flat rate shipping is a bonus, I've looked on IBuyPower and AvA Direct and the shipping just makes me wince...

I am not doing alot of 3d animation however i think you should at least improve your gpu.I think you should save money on your cpu and upgrade your gpu.You could go for the i5 2500k and overclock it.

Everything in the build looks like it'll be pretty good but the GPU won't win any awards for speed (although it should be adequate at medium-low settings, maybe even high for some games).

The CPU will be fantastic for 3D animation, modelling, multimedia etc.

+1 to all the above great system but graphics very weak compared to the rest, I would also go for either 4Gb or 8Gb RAM in 2 sticks
