Hi Guys,

Im looking to build a new PC which will be used primarily for Adobe Photosop CS4 along with the usual basics or browsing etc. Im based in the UK and my budget is £500 max. I will be purchasing all parts from

My first decision is based around CPU, i'm struggling to decide between the list before and can't find any comprehensive photoshop cs4 benchmarks or any info regarding if cs4 benefits from mulit core?? What would people recommend from the list below?

£142 AMD Phenom II x4 970
£158 AMD Phenom II X6 1075t
£149 Intel i5 2400 1155
£165 Intel i5 2500 1155
£160 Intel i5 661 1156
£161 Intel i5 760 1156
£155 Intel Core 2 Duo 8500

I understand that mobo prices will be slightly higher on the 1155 platform but I still believe that will fit my budget.

Also will a AMD 5670 GPU be powerful enough not to bottlekneck the CPU's when using photoshop?

The rest of components will be failry standard e.g. 4GB DDR3, 500GB Sata II etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can either get the i5 2500 with a H67 mobo (for the integrated graphics on the CPU) like the Gigabyte GA-H67A-UD3H or the 1075T with a mobo with onboard video like the Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H.

You don't need a dedicated video card unless you're gaming.
