I was hoping somebody who has experience could give me advice and answer some questions about a render farm
using Vegas Pro 8

I use a Core2Duo at 2.93ghz with 4gb ram avable for head of render farm
also have available the following
1) dual xeon P4 3.2 workstation machine 2gb ram
2) 8 P4 2.8 HT machines same model and chipsets etc
3) 8 port 100 router
4) 4 port router

I did my best to research Vegas Render farms on Google but really no good beginners guides

If anybody has a link to a guide for Vegas Pro 8 render farms I would appreciate it

I have a solid knowledge of home networking and have studied using cluster (distributed) computing utlilizing
Linux though havent done it yet

If anybody can help I would deeply appreciate it
Thank you in advance for your time

I would really suggest that you first use the interactive help that comes with Vegas (on the help menu, and as a popup the first time you load vegas). The interactive help really helps understand the logic behind Vegas. Plus, Sony has WMV tutorial files on their site too.
This forum below has a few ideas.

If that is not enough you could pay for some additional to get better understanding

http://www.videoguys.com/ has a course for Vegas rendering.

If you have some basic knowledge of non linear editing, the interactive tutorials are pretty good. You might also check out YouTube, as people post tutorials there as well. Some are good, others, well......not so good.

Thanks, Z

I guess you are suggesting that I actually have to think, study and do hard work to figure this out!?!
Ahh I just wanted a simple network render guide! LOL
There is a guide for everything else on the web!
Look at this
it is actually a guide on How to Wipe Your Buttocks! LMAO
http://howtowipeyourbutt.com/

I have done the first interactive tutorial on Vegas (basic)
I can figure most of the basics just by using it
just configuring the network settings is the tricky part
I am a hardware tech NOT a network guy
those network guys are nuts
they dont think like normal humans
I mean that as a compliment :)
