Hello,

I am really excited now, upgrading my video card to XFX GeForce 9800GT 512 MB DDR3.
Got a really nice deal from amazon. Getting ready to the Cataclysm!

May I ask the following question:
Will my new video card run fine with my system?

OS: Windows 7
MB: ABIT AG8-V (PCI-Expresss x16)
PSU: 650W
RAM: 1.5 GB
Processor: Pentium 4 3.00 Ghz (yeah I know.....)

*previous GPU* : Nvidia Geforce 6600 256 MB

Since I don't have a powerful system and as a result GPU will get all the power it should + not so mush heat.
Should I still consider buying a cooler or I am fine?

P.S. Thanks in advance to the community of Tomshardware for the answers! :)

yea i'd say the 9800gt would be a good match for your system. and as long as it really is a 650 watt psu you should be fine ( often generic and cheaper psu makers will jus tput a higher wattage than a psu can do... there's 700 watt psu's that are really 250 watt psu's)

hehe i just researched that brand earlier today... yea it'll be fine for your system just don't expect a logn life out of it... bad ripple suppression and dodgy capacitors. also its not really a 650 watter...

its made by a company called HEC its not complete junk by any means just low end... think of it as lower lvl green quality item for a wow refrence it does the job and beats compelte crap but its nto really doign you much good

I run WoW on a 9600GT, and I was playing on Cata earlier, looks sweet. WoW does like CPU more then GPU though so you will gt some improvement but your CPU is gonna hold you back, and you really should have 4g ram in big citys.

well HEC isn't that bad so he should be fine for a coupld years... but whereas i'd say keep a corsair for 4-5 years and even then in a low power box till somethign else causes system failure... i'd give that psu 18 months then replace it... maybe 12 months.... and not in my computer maybe the wife's :D

XFX 9800GT 512MB is my old card before upgrading to Palit GeForce GTS450 1GB. Very decent card and will run this game fine. Make sure you have a total amperage on the +12V rail(s) of at least 25A or it won't do.
