File transfer 2000>XP

Hello everyone. I am getting a new computer (will get here in about a week from Dell). I was wondering how to transfer files from my old computer to my new one. My old computer is running windows 2000 pro and my new one will be running windows xp home. I have a linksys router and wanted to transfer my file that way. If for some reason I have to, I will be willing to install 2000 on my new computer. Thanks for any help.

Get both computers hooked up to the network. Backup everything you want to one folder then share that folder. Go to your new computer, go to the share on your old computer, and copy everything over.
