Right now i have a AMD phenom X4 9850 with a ATI 4850 512MB. I was wondering would it be more beneficial to upgrade my processor to a AMD phenom II x4 940 (100$), or to upgrade my video card to a ATI 5850 1G (220$). I'm looking for biggest improvement in gaming.

What is your budget for this?
Do you want to buy both a new prossesor and graphics card,or do you want to buy 1 now and 1 later?
Best recommendation is to buy both a new prossesor and graphics card.Their are some sweet deals coming up to.

For a processor go for an AMD Athlon II X4 version and then OC it. =D the radeon hd6850 is nice and so is the 5850.

Thanks alot guys. Well basically right now its a one or the other situation. Just wondering what would be better to upgrade at this moment. I play world of warcraft and I heard its a purely CPU intensive game so I might just got for the phenom II x4 940

What is the make and model of your Power supply.
It would be way easier if you would list your full system specs.
And how much money you have to spend? There are some great combo deals out there and you might be able to buy both depending on how much money you have to spend.

Would you be intrested in a Radeon 5770? Great prosessor and GPU deals.
A 5770 is almost equal to a 460, 460 being a little faster.

Do you play any other games besides WoW?
Sorry for posting about the 5770 it is about the same speed as your 4850 it just has GDDR5 and that wouldn't really make a huge difference.

Just go with a new prossesor for now.
If you wanted to... get one of those combos and crossfire with another 5770 with your new pc next year.
