Hi everyone, I am new to your community.

I decided to assemble my own gaming desktop to play games such as GTA 4, COD, WoW, Fallout and FSX.
Also I am looking for future expandability and SLI or CF.
Below is the list of the parts that I am going to buy, so please feel free to give your input.

Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz LGA 1155 95W $329.99
ASUS P8P67 LGA 1155 Intel P67 MOBO $159.99
CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM $139.99
SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB $64.99
CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W Power Supply $129.99
GeForce GTX 470 (Fermi) SuperClocked $264.99
COOLER MASTER HAF 922 case $99.98
SAMSUNG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner $18.99

All components are from newegg

The total comes down to $1209 and I am not going to go beyond this figure, so is this a good configuration?
I will overclock the cpu and I've been planning for a long time to build a gaming pc and I want no major hiccups such as lag, low FPS while playing my games.
I am sick and tired of playing on my PS3 without any possibility of mods and such.

your could try to unlock the 6950 but personally i wouldnt do it unless you know what you are doing. btw what is your moniter res, are you planning to overclock.

Here's a build that includes a gtx 570 with the option of adding another one for SLI and a 2600K (FSX). :)

Wow! This new configuration is awesome and under my budget with a GTX 570 instead of GTX 470.

My only concern is the AsRock MOBO cuz i've heard people argue about it's reliability compared to gigibyte and ASUS.

Please clarify.

Hi everyone, below is the configuration of my proposed gaming pc, so pls take a look at it and give ur input on any compatibility issues i might face.

Also, any other advice will be greatly appreciated.

Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 (with heatsink)
ASRock P67 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333
CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W ATX12V 2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready
EVGA 012-P3-1570-AR GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5
SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5"
COOLER MASTER HAF 922 RC-922M-KKN1-GP Black Steel
ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner

This is my first build and i'm also gonna overclock the i7, so do i need any other cables or any other goodies?

I don't want any compatibility issues with the current config.
The total boils down to $1240.
Future expandability is a must.
