HD5970 OC Problems

Hello, i recently purchased a HD5970 and was very happy about the performance, then i thougt "Why not overclock it" the problem is that when i try to overclock the memory from 1000Mhz the screen just turns black and the computer freezes and i have to reboot pressing the power button. But if i try to overclock the core speed it works perfect, i just Can't get past 1030Mhz on memory plz help me

It sounds like the 5970 just isnt stable at that increased memory speed, not all 5970's overclock the same.
