Crossfire hd 5870 + 5850 will it work ??

guys please help me i have seen very good deal for 5850 and i thought if i can buy it it will be very good to me if i can CF with my current 5870 because i crave fps increase so will it work second i heard my 5870 will downgrade it speed to be equal with hd 5850 is that right third what is CF X i heard if i can run them together it will be possible through CF X ? ok thxxx

Here is the CF compatibility chart:

Can you CF a HD5870 and a HD5850? Yes
Will they then act like 2 HD5850s? Yes

You will still need to use the physical interconnect to the best of my knowledge.

ok but im going to buy the toxic version it comes overclocked to 850 mhz and 1200 thats exactly equal to my 5870 will they be good

Doesn't really matter if you get the overclocked version. You'll have the power of a 5970 with those two cards crossfired.
