Mac OS on PC

If I install a clean (new) hard drive on my machine - can I then install the Mac OS on it and expect it to work?

Almost certainly not. Some people report just being able to insert the OSX DVD and install, but these circumstances are rare. The list of things that can go wrong from installation to booting and running the OS is endless. There may be a fix for each one (from disabling CPU cores in the bios, to injecting kexts) but expect to spend countless hours on the internet figuring out what to do.

Don't bother.
