LF GPU for Phenom II x6 1090T

I'm looking to build a computer for some gaming, but mostly art, animation and video orientated usuage. I have the build done except for the graphics card.

Some friends keep telling me to go for 5870 but I wonder if it's really worth the money. I didn't want to spend more than $250 for the card.

I have the 5850 in both of my rigs and it is fast. Now I would get a 6870.

I think Nvidia cards are more suited for animation and video, and ATI for gaming. It depends on which you will focus more heavily.

The HD 6870 looks a solid buy.
