Visiontek 900338 Radeon HD 6870 1024MB GDDR5 PCIe 2.1 x16 Video Card

and the

saphire, XFX, versions of the 6870? reason I asked this is because it irks me that the saphire and XFX cost more.

More about thread difference these
  1. Without links to the actual cards and where you are buying them from cannot say, perhaps it is warranty or bundled items or the fact that sapphire and XFX maybe feel they have the brand recognition to be able to charge more.
  2. I would go with the cheapest, the visiontek.
The first batches are most likely all made from the same 1,2 or 3 master aib's.
    Then distributed and stickers installed.]

Newegg has a listing for that visiontek, it looks like the AMD test cards. Simple as .
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814129166
description states Visiontek offers a limited lifetime warranty
  3. Warranties and what is bundled are different but not necessarily reflected in the price.

The visiontek for instacne comes with less cables than the sapphire but also appears to come with a better warranty but I am not sure on the fine print with lifetime garauntees.

Diamond and vtx3d both seem to offer the least in terms of bundled items and warranty while xfx looks to have the best warranty of the lot.

You choice really. I am not able to tell you anything that is not on that website.
  4. All 6870's are based on the same reference design, so differences will depend on the extras you receive along with the card.
