i'm planning to buy a note book of Asus 1215T which have AMD athlon processor 1.77 GHz. i wanna know is it better than Intel atom?

AMD Athlon II Neo K125

The AMD Athlon II Neo K125 Processor is an entry level single core CPU for small laptops. It has an integrated DDR3-1066 memory controller and supports HyperTransport 3.0 with 2000 MHz.

The performance is similar to a 1.7 GHz Pentium M / Core Solo and therefore faster than 1.6 Ghz clocked Atom CPUs in Intel based netbooks.

Not sure what you will be doing but the Asus Eee PC 1215B is roughly the same price --- less CPU performance but better graphics.

And even better ... for less than additional $50 you may load up a dual-core E350 Zacate.
