Usb mass storage device overlimit exceeded

Hello,
I was trying to rebuild my computer I managed to get it working but I keep getting this cmos usb mass storage device detected overlimit exceeded will shut down after 15 seconds does anyone know how to fix this.

What are you powering from USB?

just the mouse and even after we unplugged the mouse and even the harddrives it still said the same thing

Perhaps you have a shorted circuit somewhere on the motherboard, or between the motherboard and case. You should contact Gigabyte to see if they've heard of this error.

USB connector on motherboard (Case connector, card reader ) backwards.

Can't do backwards with a 2-row connector since they're keyed, but I never thought to ask about 1-row connectors such as a card reader would use!
