Building a Desktop for Home Music (Midi) studio and Video Editing

Hello,
I have a $2,000 budget, and want to build an i7, 12 GB DDR3 1600, 120 GB SSD primary HDD, USB3, firewire desktop to run a Home Music studio, and also do HD/BluRay video editing & burning. I need advice on selecting the motherboard and video card, and whether on-board 7.1 audio is sufficient if I plan to add a Midi sound box? Budget does not need to include a monitor.
