My PC config is

Amd PhenomIIX4 945 3ghz
Asus M4A78T-E
Transcend 2+2 GB DDR3
Seagate 500GB Sata
Corsair 550w PSU
Saumsung 20" LCD - 1600 x 900

I have shortlisted ATI 5670 and 5770 ......

I am confused whether i need HD5770 for running games like Crysis2 , GTA4 etc in resolution 1600x900 with maximum settings ....

Coming to brand , is XFX better than ASUS ??

More about : choosing ati 5670 5770

You'll want the extra power for Crysis2 most likely and even then, you aren't likely going to be able to play it on it's highest setting, based on their past history. Of course that is speculation.

I'd definately choose to go with the 5770. Both brands are good, go with what ever has the best price or bundle.

Before you buy, just check the contents inside the box. I once bought an XFX 5670 and there werent much cables inside an i had to buy them. But i recently bought a Sapphire 6870 and was surprised at how much cables they had..

For your resolution and settings, u would need 5770. the 5670 is not that good.

You could also spend another 50$ and get a 6850. Its new and offers real good performance for money. Its roughly 2 times more powerful than 5770

They are both good brands. If there is a difference in price, get the cheaper one. If one comes with a game, maybe get that one.

Buddy now i come to GTA 4,its really a bad coded game and need a high-end system to run it smoothly.
GTA 4 might lagg to very small extent on full high settings.
As far as Crysis 2 is concerned.Developers are making the upcoming games with advance softwares to minimize the system requirements.
So Crysis 2 will not come out to be more challenging then GTA 4.
The rumors are that its CPU n GPU requirements are not very much high but it will need 4GB of RAM.
Till now all the games just need 2GB RAM but Crysis 2 RAM requirement is contrary to this.

But u have 4GB RAM so no worries.
5770 is the mid-range graphic card but its pair is an excellent pair.
......................................................................................................
I recommend u to save more money and go for GTX 460.its a beast.
It appears to be future proof as well.
Best of luck.
XFX has more warranty as compared to ASUS whereas ASUS has better cooling.
