I currently have a Onkyo HT-S9300THX surround system,a HD directv reciever and a 42" vizio flat screen,I am looking for a PC to play music, videos, and movies through my HT and Vizio.I am looking at a HP Pavilion Elite HPE-450f,is this PC a good choice?Over kill, underkill? Not going to do any gaming on this one, just music, movies, video, and web surfing.thanks

That's definitely overkill. Something with a Core i3 and that uses the integrated graphics would be more appropriate and probably half the price. HP Pavilion P6630F would be a good example though not very good looking as an HTPC.

I'd prefer something more like this:

ASRock CORE 100HT-BD

$620

The drawback you would need to add a RAM, a hard drive and operating system.

Some others to look at (full builds):
- Dell Zino HD
- ViewSonic VOT132
- lenovo IdeaCentre Q150 (40814AU)
- Acer Aspire Revo AR3700-U3002
- ASUS Eee Box EB1501P-B016E
