suggestions on laptop, $1500 or less?

Hi all,

I'm helping a friend choose a new laptop. The machine will basically be
used as a desktop replacement, and from time to time will be taken on
the road to classes, etc. She'll probably primarily surf the net and
use the machine for office type productivity.

Her main concerns are a nice screen, and a built-in dvd/rw. . I also
suggested she should get a min of 512 mb ram, and built-in bluetooth
would be a nice bonus-- I assume it goes without saying that any machine
at this price point would have built-in 802.11-b/g?

If anyone has thoughts, they would be much appreciated.
