I have recently installed a nvidia gts 450 in my computer, everything appears to be running well the only problem is that when I was installing it I deleted my onboard graphics drivers.
Now I have no display from the onboard and I cannot install the drivers for my new card. The only option I can think of would be to wipe my computer, but I was hoping someone could help me before I do so.
More aboutstuck graphics card drivers
I do not understand. Even without the drivers, the card should work in character mode.
It works up to where the user login should be and then it goes black.
I have tried re-enabling through the BIOS but it has no effect.
Are you talking about a complete system restore?
Losing the data will be annoying but there is nothing that can't be replaced.
Thank you for the help.
Boot into safe mode or safe mode with networking (using the appropriate function key )--- that will boot using a generic Windows VGA driver and should allow you to then install the proper driver for your video chip.
