I'm looking at buying a Sager NP5160 laptop and trying to decide whether it's worth upgrading from an Intel Core i5-2520M to the i7-2630QM. I'm just wondering if it will notably improve the performance of most games. The rig also comes with an nVidia GT 540M 1024MB with Optimus card. I've been browsing the forums a little and it kind of sounds like I should just stick with the i5 unless I want to shell out the cash and go for the i7 720.

On a related note, 4GB vs 6GB of RAM on the same laptop... thoughts?

Well, stick to the i5.However let me remind you when comparing the i7 and i5 desktop we can see no discernable difference in speed that all changes in laptops.Laptops you can see a very discernable difference in i5 and i7.However if i were to say upgrade in all fact no, save that money for other things.
