Hello,
I have been reading the wealth of information provided here on the forums and I feel I have learned a great deal more than I knew previously thanks to the contributions of the experienced members on these forums. I play RTS games and was trying to follow the lead of other builders by copying their selections. Now I'm interested in the new Sandy Bridge cpu and would like system to build around it. Looked at the Asus board the AsRock, etc. .Eyesight is no longer that great so please excuse typos. Would like to max out around $1200.00 Thanks for your help

I apologize for the lack of info. Yes I am in the US, I'll pay separately for the O/S . I have a monitor. A samsung P2370 with a resolution of 1920X1080. I also have mouse and keyboard. All else I would need.

Thanks for the recommendation. Looks awesome. Would I need a CPU cooler or do I stick with the stock fan? Will probably order between today and tomorrow. Can you think of anything else I may be missing?

You can go with an aftermarket heat sink if you would like. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus is a good one to consider (and is relatively cheap).

The stock Intel cooler will do just fine. That build isn't set up to over clock....no need imo. If you want a build that is set up to over clock let me know and I will switch out the mobo and cpu. :)

Switch out the mobo and cpu in that build I posted with this down below and you can over clock until your hearts content. :)

never overclocked before. Is this a complicated or something I can screw up? I would like to try it. Would it reduce the life of the system?

It's not too difficult. There are some stickies on here, though I do not know if they have been updated for SB. The system will run a bit hotter, but should last until the computer is obsolete.

Decent thermal paste comes with that heat sink in the combo I posted.
