Hi,
My desktop has got a 19 inch monitor with Intel Core i3 and 2 GB DDR3 ram. Can I fit a xfx ati radeon HD 5670 1 GB DDR5 to it. Is DDR5 a problem with DDR3 ram ??????? Im fitting a Gaohics card purely for gaming purpose; modern warfare, pes 2011, other racing games etc.....

what is your screen resolution?also graphic card ram type has no relation with your system RAM.Between GTS 250 ati 5670 ati 5770
the fastest is ati 5770 which is equal to a underclocked gtx 260.however if you are gaming at 1440X900 or below it is way above what you need.between the gts 250 and 5670 the 5670 has dx11 while gts 250 only has direct x 10 but the dx 11 featurs are useless since the card is not powerful enough to handle dx11 games anyway so i would go for a gts 250 which would also give you physx and CUDA plus because of TWIMTBP all games will run great on the gts 250.

wrong.... the gts 250 is basically a rebranded 9800GTX, the hd 5770 is much better like he said the hd 5770 performs around the same as a gtx 260

anyway my brother has a gigabyte gts 250 OC edition 1 gig and it can play battlefield bad company 2 and so on at max graphics on 1680x1050 resolution however he has an i5 750 and 4 gigs of ram.... but the hd 5770 is very good price vs performance and it was the best price vs performance when it came out and it sold very well until the gtx 460 came, i have an msi 5770 hawk and its a decent card....

it performs worse than 260 in many games because of its low bandwith and also TWIMTBP.I own 2 desktops one which is a dell studio xps 7100 with ati 5770 and one studio xps 8100 wit ha single 1792mb gtx 260 but at higher resolutions like 1680X1050 the 260 surpasses the 5770.the gtx 260 core 216 edition 1792mb is pretty much on par with a 4890=5830>5770>gts 250.but at OP's resolution I would say a 5770 is overkill. He has to choose between a 5670 and gts 250 out of which i choose the gts 250 because it will give him physx and much better performance in nvidia-biased games(which are a lot).Besides the 5670 and 5770 hardly count as dx11 cards because they don't have enough power to run dx 11 features.Hell, even a gtx 460 has trouble maxing out games with dx11(eg-metro 2033 gtx 460 can max out with dx 11 features at normal settings which would look worse than dx10 high settings)

the hd 5770 is better than the gts 450, and some factory OCd gts 250 cards perform the same as a gts 450 they just dont have direct x 11, just get the hd 5770 its the best card for the money you have to spend

dont worry about the 5670 unless maybe if you are playing at 720p, I would definatley get the 5770 over the 250. the 250 is more like a 4850 whereas a 5770 is close to a 4870/gtx260 imo if that helps. Also the 5770s that ive seen had some good overclocking headroom. Bottom line, get a 5770 I have seen them going on ebay for 100 and less otherwise they are about 140 new online.
