ATI IGP then add a nvidia card?

Hi all, I was wondering if since I bought the ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 mobo
which comes with the ATI Radeon HD 4250 IGP chip in it, if when I can afford it put a NViDiA GTX 460 on it without any issues, or if I'm limited to ATI GPU's since that is what my mobo came with. Thanks in advance

No your finr to do that, you can turn the IGP off in the Bios. A lot of modern boards dont even need you to do this as they just switch to whatever card is put in the PCIE slot when it detects a card has been pluged in to it.

Mactronix :)

You can use either ATI or Nvidia on that MOBO - the only thing to keep in mind is if going with Nvidia you will not be able to use 2 cards in SLI (since the ATI chipset supports Crossfire but not SLI) - so that could be a problem if you ever planned on adding a second 460
