Hello,

I have a Clevo M540SS notebook and I've started having trouble with it since the notebook's BIOS sometimes recognizes the DVD drive and sometimes it doesn't.

I've already updated my Clevo's BIOS to the last version and also updated the DVD drive's BIOS to its last version (TMS0).

I don't know what else to do.

ANY HELP???

I'm using Win XP SP3 and OpenSuse 13.

Often dvd drives gets damaged in time so its inevitable you must replace it.Sorry.

This notebook is 2 years old!!

Can you remove the whole dvd asembly from the laptop and clean the connections?

If not, a replacement should cost that much.

I've done that before updating the BIOSes.

I thought I'd have to replace it.
It shouldn't have happend. It's a real shame.

Anyway... The good point is I'll replace it with a BD burner. =)
And the bad news is I'm going to pay for it.
