Folks,

MB: ASUS F1A75-V PRO
PSU: CoolerMaster Elite Power 460W

I just purchased a new ASUS motherboard. It has 24-pin EATXPOWER connection and an 8-pin EATX12V connection. Is the latter connection mandatory?

My PSU has two 4-pin connector. I am guessing I can put two of them together to make it 8-pin connector. Is this how it is typically connected?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Regards,
Peter

Yes, it is mandatory. You are correct, connect the two 4pin connectors to the motherboard. They are keyed to only go in the correct way.

PS - Make sure not to use the ones labelled PCI-E 1 and PCI-E 2, those are for video cards. :)
